Getting the right size
It’s been my experience that Danner Boots run very close
with Brannock Device measurements. Head out to your local shoe store and use
one of the foot measurement things. Write down the size and width of your feet
for ordering your Danner boots. Now don’t go thinkin you know what size your
feet are by what size Nike you’re kickin around in. We all know that every
manufacturer is a little different. I wish these companies would get it
together and standardize the sizes already.
Now that you know what size your feet are you just need to
take into consideration what type of sock you are going to wear. If you are
going to wear standard socks go with the exact size if your wearing heavier
boot socks go ½ size bigger. In the case of winter boots go a full size bigger
to account for multiple layers of socks. Keep in mind your toes should never
touch inside the toe of the boot. Boots
will stretch in width but not in length and when in doubt go big or go home. It’s
better to “have and not need than need and not have.” Take a look at my article
on breaking in new boots you might be surprised.
